28.10.2008
URM-2 Universal Rocket Module for the Angara family of launch vehicles is being prepared for fire-testing at Test Station (TS)-102 of the Rocket & Space Industry Research & Testing Center (formerly Chemical Engineering Research Institute - NII KhimMash) located at Peresvet (Sergiev Posad District, Moscow Region).
In test preparation, after in–receipt inspection in the assembly and testing building, the URM-2 was placed in a specially designed fixture yesterday on October 27.
The next planned pre-test activities include loading/off loading, transportation and installation of the URM into TS-102 test stand.
Khrunichev Space Center is developing the Angara launch vehicle family, the next generation of vehicles, based on a core booster module with liquid oxygen/kerosene propulsion. The family includes the entire range of boosters – from small-lift to super heavy-lift.
